In Tamil Nadu, all domestic consumers are entitled to a certain number of free units of electricity each month, depending on the category of consumer. However, this free unit allocation is not necessarily 100 units per month.
For domestic consumers, the free unit allocation is as follows:
- Below 100 units: No free units
- 100 units to 200 units: 50 units
- 201 units to 500 units: 75 units
- Above 500 units: 100 units
This means that if you are a domestic consumer and your consumption is between 100 units and 200 units per month, you will be entitled to 50 units of free electricity. If your consumption is above 500 units per month, you will be entitled to 100 units of free electricity.
